A lot has happened since the last time I blogged so I'll do my best to catch up. But other than that, I hope everyone is doing well. I'll post again later today.

Dear God
I am deeply saddened and completely devastated that Obama has won.
Absolutely devastated, disappointed, and afraid.
Very afraid for our country.
But we will not give up.
We will continue to defend what we believe in.
We will survive the next four years with the greatest resilience.
God Bless America. Read More...

just a quick hello ;)
hey lovelies. ;) just wanted to check in really quick. the job is going really well. tomorrow will be my fourth day and i'm off sunday and wednesday, just because it works best for my family. but i'm cool with that because it's a good transition from someone who was so used to staying home everyday and taking naps lol. so, work two days and rest and work 3 days and rest. my only problem now is getting my daughter into after school care. i was under the impression that i could just start her anytime but apparently you have to wait and see if they even have an opening. so that kinda sucks. but i'll find out on monday. but on a brighter note, my new co-workers share a love for...MAC makeup! LOL. ;) so, that's pretty much it. oh and i haven't had any time at all to take any FOTD pics in the AM. but hopefully i can get a quick shot tomorrow. oh and i've been using the rimmel lasting finish mineral foundation and it is <3 for me! i'll have to do a review. til next time my lovelies. ;)

since I attracted some democrats to my blog...
Thank You V, Nance, and Gil for your opinions. I will not get started on my point of views as this will break out in hell with our opposing beliefs. Point blank, I'm for McCain. Obama became Senator of Illinois by default. DEFAULT! Not because he did anything worthy of becoming Senator, but because there was basically no one else to take the role. 'So uh, here Barack, you can be Senator'. WTF is THAT? Personally, I would like to vote for someone who actually has some experience and not someone who decides to come to Hawaii and take a fucking family vacation when there are bigger problems that need to be dealt with. I do not feel the way I do because Obama is black so let's not get started with that. Please, I've got black friends. And? Our economy is already as bad as it is and the only two people who will help us is McCain and Palin. If Obama becomes President, we should all be praying. Things will be worse than they already are.
'Nuff said about that subject I'm fucking done.
ANYway, so I had 2 interviews yesterday and basically have the choice of the 2 and now I am trying to make the best decision for myself and my family. Don't wanna get too specific but one is in the healthcare field and one is in a corporate office. Job A is a little laid back, more routine, average pay with a lot of hours. Job B is more fast paced, not-so-routine, more of a leadership role with good pay and regular hours. I'm leaning towards Job B for the nature of the job. It's more my cup of tea than Job A. But Job A is literally a couple blocks away, I could walk my daughter to school and be at work in 15 minutes tops. I'm stuck guys. I have the rest of today to think about it. Whatever the pick, more MAC! lol. Read More...

Nobama-keep the change! lol. I know he's from my hometown but he's just not the right candidate to serve our country as President. Hockey Moms, Luxury Jets, and More: Sarah Palin's Speech
by Molly McCall
September 4, 2008 09:37:07 AM
1,967 Votes Last night, Sarah Palin stepped up to the microphone and let loose a rip-roaring speech that thrilled the Republican convention and (dare we say it) impressed the media. The Alaska governor also clearly excited watchers at home—a huge number of people seemed to leap for their laptops as soon as the talk ended. Here's a rundown of the parts of the speech that sparked the most buzz online.
Hockey Moms
Palin had special smiles for the conventioneers waving "Hockey Moms for Palin" signs. "I gotta love the hockey moms," the first-term governor said. "You know what they say about the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."
And just like that, the mothers of stick-and-puck-playing kids made soccer moms seem so last decade. Lookups for "hockey moms" have been scoring goals all morning. But is the lipsticked Alaskan more "Power Play Hockey Mom" or "X-treme Hockey Mom"? Read up on the distinctions in this Baltimore Sun blog post and decide for yourself.
The eBay Jet
Palin talked about her cost-cutting measures as governor, saying "While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the governor's office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for. That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay."
Yes, searchers, it's true. She did, indeed, list the previous governor's Westwind II plane on the popular auction site—three times. But no buyer ever made the minimum bid. According to AskMen.com, she eventually sold the machine through a broker for a cool $2.1 mil, "at a loss of around half a million dollars."
Snow Machine Race
Palin spoke glowingly of her family, reserving special words for her husband of two decades, Todd Palin. "He's a lifelong commercial fisherman, a production operator in the oil fields of Alaska's North Slope, a proud member of the United Steel Workers' Union, and world champion snow machine racer," she boasted. That last detail set off a flurry of "snow machine race" queries. The contest in question is the Tesoro Iron Dog, "a grueling, 2,000-mile race over ice and snow." The "first dude" has won it a remarkable four times.
Haberdasher
Now here's one term making its Buzz debut. At one point during the evening, Palin referenced "a young farmer and haberdasher from Missouri" who "followed an unlikely path to the vice presidency." Haber-what? The term means "a dealer in men's clothing and accessories." And the man? Harry S. Truman.
Community Organizer
For all that Barack Obama has talked about his roots as a community organizer in Chicago, it was Palin who boosted the term sky high in Search last night. "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities," she quipped. The stinging barb brought out an equally sarcastic post from The Huffington Post ("Shorter RNC Convention Day Three: "Death to Community Organizers!"), while a blogger at The Dallas Morning News offered a quick description of what Obama actually did as a community organizer.
John McCain's Middle Name
Palin didn't say her running mate's middle name last night, but she and other speakers praised the virtues of "John S. McCain." The inclusion of the middle initial caused many people to turn to the Web for "john mccain's middle name." Answer: The "s" stands for "Sidney." Watch for more from John Sidney McCain tonight, as the Arizona senator closes the four-day convention with his acceptance of the Republican presidential nomination and, we're sure, a few buzzworthy phrases himself.

Product Review: NYX Felt Tip Liner

Product: NYX Felt Tip Liner (Jet Black)
Product Description: A liquid eyeliner with a specially designed felt brush that releases just the right amount of color for precise and dark lining. Long-lasting, won't flake or smudge.
Price/Weight: $7/0.02 0z./0.6 ml.
Where to buy: NYX Cosmetics or CherryCulture.com
Packaging:

Quality:

Overall:

Why I purchased it: I'm a really big fan of felt tip liquid eyeliners. So when I saw this on cherryculture, I wanted to try it right away but held off on it to wait for it to get to my local Longs drug store.
Pros: It's made in Japan! Usually, things that are made in Japan are of better quality than things made in China. This also goes for electronics. But anyway, lol. I love the packaging. It really resembles a pen! Like a fine point marker pen. They also had brown and extreme black but I decided to go for the jet black because it was a blacker black. It glides on your eyelid like a dream! And it gives off a really nice dark black color. I lined my eye with one quick stroke. It was so fast and easy. You don't need to do so many strokes like you would with a pencil, and you don't need a separate blush and liner (like 266+fluidline) so it's very convenient. And the price is great too. High-end branded dupes of this could go as high as $28.

Cons:: It does say that you have to keep one side down. So you'd have to store it in a cup or jar, or whatever you use to store your brushes in. Just something that will hold it up. Obviously the reason for that is so that it will be ready to go for application right away. As opposed to if you store it laying down, it might take a few seconds to get the product going. But other than that, I love it!
Overall Opinion: I am for sure buying this again in the future. Really great product! I'm in love. ;)

makeup therapy hauls
Happy Tuesday ladies. Just wanted to share my back to MAC haul from last week as well as a drugstore haul. Oh and I'm not going to talk about anything 'job-hunting'-related. Its making me sick. I'll just update on that when I actually get a job lol.
I haven't set foot in MAC in a while so I figured I'd at least do b2m. I went with Jamie and she used her pro card for me so I only spent $60 for everything. Thanks Jamie! *hugs* For my b2m I got:

Talent Pool e/s, Dreammaker e/s, Grand Entrance e/s, 3-D l/s, Creme Cerise l/s (<3!!), Honey-flower l/s (been wanting it since Jackie got it lol, Lightly Ripe l/s, and Liqeur l/g

My whole MAC haul for $60!
The other things that I picked up were:

A 15-pan palette for my NYX trios (still gotta depot), Signed, Sealed e/s pan, Plum Du Boi blush, and the Spiced Chocolate quad
I also went to Wal-Mart and KMart sometime last week and picked up these goodies:

A bead organizer with 24 jars to organize my pigments-and do B2M (about $7), e.l.f. hypershine gloss in honey, 2 e.l.f. liquid liners in black and brown, and 2 L'oreal H.I.P. Jelly Balms in Luscious and Succulent. Since I only have one MAC Tendertone (deep sigh), I thought I'd try these babies out

L'oreal H.I.P. Jelly Balms in Luscious & Succulent
Went to Longs and they finally had the NYX Felt Tip Liner that I saw on Cherryculture.com. It was 6.99. =D

NYX Felt Tip Liner in Jet Black & Prestige Liners in Bamboo & Angora (to match my MAC lippies)
The Prestige liners were on sale for 2.99 at Longs and they are waterproof. big bonus for me! ;)
I'll be doing a review on the NYX felt tip liner. If you guys don't already know I am a huge fan of felt tip liners. That's why I didn't get along so well with MAC Liquidlast liners because of the brush that it comes with. Couldn't apply it right even if my life depended on it lol. I'll also be reviewing a sample of the the Chanel Exceptionel mascara that I got in the mail from Allure beauty experts. ;)
Have a fantabulous day everyone. ;)
