Simply Naturals & Brush Bath

I got my Simply Naturals haul yesterday. I'm pretty satisfied with everything I received. Thank you to Christiana for giving us all the scoop on all the mineral makeup websites you find!

I couldn't get the pics to come out as good as Christiana's so I just made a video. You can check it out on my YT channel. :)Anyway, here is my haul:




My faves are Razzmatazz, Motown, Cayman, Green Apple, Citrus & Fern. Love them all really. ;)

And I washed all my brushes too. Took me damn near one hour just to do everything. I don't usually wash them all at the same time only because I regularly wash the ones I use the most. Didn't think it would take so long to do all of them.



My birthday is coming up. Don't think I'll be doing anything special. My birthdays were never really times to celebrate. It's really just another ordinary day. But I will be eating noodles (pancit) that's for sure lol.

Tomorrow I'm going to meet prettywahine96701 (Jaime) from youtube. lol. We've been talking on youtube and for some strange reason I feel like I've known her forever. She invited me to her birthday party this Saturday at Brew Moon. I decided to go since I really haven't had much of a social life in forever. So sad I know. lol. I'll let yall know how it goes.

random jibberish

i am already not feeling this layout. so thanks to Krystle, i can do something about it. she shared a website that she found through PC Magazine. GetPaint allows you to download a free image-editing software similar to photoshop. i was trying it out earlier today and i'm in love. thank heavens for this. i was getting sick of my trial periods expiring on me. leaving me with no other option but to go and look for another 30-day trial of crap. the installation/dl time was really quick for me too and very easy. if you download the program, make sure you download the 3.22 version. that is the one that's free. i first downloaded the 3.30 beta thinking it was a more updated version and lo and behold, it has a 30-day trial. sooo, 3.22 people! and Krystle even shares a little tut on how to do a basic watermark to prevent folks from jacking your precious makeup pics. =)

Yay for Koren at EnKoreMakeup for sharing his reviews on the coastalscents brushes. I want the Large Italian Badger Buffer Brush. I can just feel the velvety smooth butter-like hairs gliding across my face just by looking at the damn thing. lol. Seriously though, if EnKore Says they're great, you can't expect anything less. And for the unbelieveable prices, 'no' is just not an option. lol. Check them out:

1) MAC Tweezers

I do love MAC. But not their tweezers. oh please, anything but their tweezers. for $28, i have two words for you: rip. off. seriously, they do not grab the hairs. it's a little too long and feels heavy in my hand. tweezerman. hands down. NEXT!

2) Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover Liquid

This is supposedly America's #1 Eye Makeup remover brand. hahaha...bahaha! when i used this stuff it felt like swiping vegetable oil all over my eye. i HATE that greasy, oily feeling. i get that it's supposed to be moisturizing but my eyes are not butterball turkeys ready to be greased for a baking. yuck.

3) Smashbox Lip & Lid Primer

Honestly, I liked the travel-friendly size packaging and I liked the whole concept of having both primers in one. But when you come right down to it, the product sucked. the eye primer did not go on my eyelids smoothly. it was a bit cakey and came out in streaks. this ain't got nothing on UDPP. as for the lip primer, let's not even go there. if i was begging for dry, flakey lips, i would use this in a heartbeat.

4) imju fiberwig mascara

sad but true. i know this particular mascara has gotten a lot of great reviews but unforunately it didn't work out for me. everytime i put them on it would make my lashes look like little trees. i mean trees with little tiny branches. sorry if that doesn't make sense but i don't know how else to explain it. i guess there was just way too much fiber in there. i didn't get any length. just clumpy..little..trees. but i love shu uemura fiber xtension. :)

5) bare escentuals barevitamins skin rev-er upper

and last but never the least, i must agree with Christiana Divine on this one. That smell...it's just...oh my, i don't even know what that is. but it's funky as hell and it stinks. i didn't even try putting it on my face so i have nothing to say about the product itself. i just got a whif of that stuff and i was immediately turned off. sure enough she made a date with my son's dirty diaper-in the trash.

as i type this, my daughter is singing, "over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go!" i think it's the super why cartoon on pbs. lol.

thanks for your responses on the whole depotting issue. i'm about 75% sure that i will start depotting. but that 25% of me still can't go through with the murder. lol. i'll keep you all posted.

i still haven't gotten around to doing an fotd. it's hard with my babies keeping me occupied. i do tell myself that as soon as they take a nap i'll do one but then i end up doing other household chores such as cleaning up around the house, picking up toys, etc. washing dishes, doing more laundry, cleaning my bathroom. the list goes on. lol. so forgive me if i haven't posted fotds. i will try harder lol.

one last thing, i seem to have fell off my diet. i just wanted to know from you guys, what keeps you motivated? i know i've somehow lost my motivation but i need to get back on track because i would like to be at a healthier weight for my son's first birthday party in late august/early september. i do have membership with 24 hour fitness but i haven't gone in a couple of months. that's sad considering how expensive it is! but please, do share your thoughts, experiences, and advice. thanks! :)

BBQ Ribs from Jaclyn Rose :)

Thank you ladies for the kind words. I really appreciate it. Yes, I do hope to find a better job soon but not too soon. ;)

Also, thank you to Ms. Jaclyn Rose for sharing her awesome BBQ Rib recipe. And I'm not lying when I say this, the day I came across her blog, I headed to Sam's Club just to get ribs and BBQ sauce to make this lol. I'm glad I did. Being that I just moved out of my parents' home in December, I am fairly new to the cooking world. I never used to cook at all. The rents did all that. My job was to eat. lol. Now that I am on my own with my own family, I am always looking for quick and easy recipes to try out. I am no where near the Emeril stage but I do enjoy learning how to cook. Jaclyn Rose has a great blog. She is a fellow MILF, mama of two boys, a wifey, and knows a lot about computers. I highly suggest you check her out. :) Now onto a few pics of the finger-lickin good ribs:











Let me tell you those were some pretty good ribs. I boiled them for 20 minutes with some seasonings, drowned them in BBQ sauce, then baked them for 30 min. at 450 degrees. Check out J. Rose for her step by step tut w/visuals. :)

hello ladies

i just gotta say thanks to the lovely owner of the Clumps of Mascara beauty blog, Ms. Divine Blackness. I seriously love her blog! She has a great sense of humor and it's so funny how we have the same interests/feelings about makeup/products. She's the shit so you gotta send her some love. ;)

so the gas co. guy JUST left my house and said the hot water should be on in about 20 min. good lord tell me why i went over a week without any hot water?! that is a damn shame and not to mention quite irritating as well. they couldn't turn it on the first time they came because the water heater itself was leaking and had to be replaced. as well as the whole gas line. so yesterday my landlord's certified plumber, that he's been using for years, came and replaced the heater and fixed the gas line. so i had to call back the gas co. and tell them that i could no longer wait another day for them to come and turn on my hot water and that someone needs to get their ass here TODAY. and turn it on. i admit, i was getting quite fussy over the phone but hell effin no was i gonna wait til tomorrow. they've already given me enough grief as it is and i am not going another day with boiling water just to bathe my son.

*waits 20 min...*

yay! it's on!! i knew they didn't want me to actually bring myself down there to get someone to turn on my hot water. :D

anyway, i'm off to take a nice HOT shower (my first since we've moved out) and then i'll be doing a crapload of laundry since i am off to work again tomorrow.

o-m-g. christmas is only 12 days from today. that is crazy!! 2008 is getting their panties in a bunch to come through already. Read More...
